Testimonials

Royal Thai Pavilion, Madison, Wisconsin

Video released by Barry Adams for The Journal Times about the work carried out by KALAM’s team of specialists on the Royal Thai Pavilion at the Olbrich Botanical Gardens in Madison, WI. Kalam’s team has worked in phases on this delicate intervention, starting with the restoration of the roof, where the standout work was the renovation and production of 19,300 new ceramic tiles, identical to the originals but designed to better withstand Madison’s climate. Also noteworthy is the restoration of the pavilion’s entire ornamentation. Cleaning and restoration work was carried out on the gilded surfaces using various techniques, including the application of more than 7,500 decorative gold leaves. The mirrored mosaic tiles, which are integrated into some of the ornamental motifs, were also restored.
