During 35 years in business, we have accomplished recognized and awarded restorations, by experts and managers specialized in architectural heritage; such as the interventions in the cathedrals of Sigüenza, Santiago de Compostela or Sevilla in Spain, Santo Domingo in Dominican Republic, Palace of Versailles, Castles of Saumur or Chenonceau in France, Pereira, Vergara or Rioja Palaces in Chile, among many others. In addition to that, we have continuously worked for various church dioceses and provided our services to the most remarkable companies in the insurance industry, that only entrust the value of their properties to the utmost qualified companies that can guarantee the best results.

From our beginnings it has been a priority to have a roster for the company comprised of highly qualified and trusted professionals: Fine Arts graduates, restorers, masters of traditional building trades specializing in the work of lead, zinc, wood, and the reproduction of architectural items, mortar coverings, etc., led by highly trained and experienced technicians.

Among our distinctions, we can highlight the recognition in 2016 with a Special Mention in the category of Dedicated Service to Heritage, or the 2018 Conservation Award for the restoration of the Façade of the College of San Ildefonso, in Alcalá de Henares; both at the prestigious European Heritage Awards / Europa Nostra Awards.

Restoration of the facades of Colegio Mayor de San Ildefonso, by Rodrigo Gil de Hontañón in “Cisneros style”, with influences from the Gothic to the Renaissance. The intervention, recognized with a Europa Nostra Award, also includes the replacement of stone and mortar volumes, the restoration of the masonry and carpentry work and the protection of the zinc cornices.

Consolidation and restoration of eaves and wooden elements, roof, façade carpentry with interior finishing work in the historic district of Clinton Hill, Brooklyn, under the approval of the NYC Landmarks Preservation Commission.

In different interventions we work on the recovery of the covers including Angers slate in the covering as well as lead ornaments finished in gold leaf: vegetal bands in ridge, flaming vase, fruit garlands, etc.

Restoration of the facades and walls of this emblematic fortified palace. Masonry work was carried out on the walls by removing old coatings in poor condition and contributing material with new grouting, sgraffing and plastering with traditional mortar with pigmented lime on site, matching the original colors and other works such as recovering the original pit.

Restoration of the slate roofs of the buildings in the courtyard of honor of this spectacular Royal Abbey located in the Loire Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2000. The ridge tiles, made of Arabic tiles, were also restored. Finally, the copper downspout system and the lead and zinc waterproofing pieces were rehabilitated.

We feel fortunate to have worked on the comprehensive restoration of all main rooms, in the largest Catalan Modernism work outside of Catalonia by the influential architect Luis Domènech I Montaner, which was masterfully adorned by a team of the best artisans of the Catalan scene of the time.

National Heritage has relied on KALAM to restore the cultural landscape of Aranjuez, working on many different areas over the years, including delicate ground consolidation works. All of this work was executed by our master traditional trades, restorers and specialized technicians; who, with efficiency and training, have managed to become a reference company in the sector.
